DESCRIPTION:Homeschool Hangouts \n  \n  \n  \n Homeschool Hangouts will be additional programs held outside of our typical Homeschool Workshop sessions. The Hangout topics and activities will differ from the Workshop topics and activities while still providing fun, hands-on S.T.E.A.M. education to supplement your family's homeschool curriculum! \n  \n  \n  \n Cost \n  \n  \n  \n 	Individual Session - $20 each \n 	Full Series of 5 Sessions - $80 \n  \n  \n ‹Grade and Class \n  \n  \n  \n 	5th through 7th grade \n 	Workshops will run on Tuesdays. \n 	All classes are 120 minutes long and will start promptly at 1:00 PM. \n 	Class costs include entrance into the museum for the participating student. If the guardian would like to play in the museum with any younger siblings, they will need to purchase admission or have a membership. \n 	Class sizes will be 20 kids max.   \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Kool Kinetics \n  \n  \n Fall 2024  \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n August 20, 2024 - Mechanical (Motion) \n  \n  \n Build your own candy machine and do egg drop experiments to learn about mechanical energy. \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n September 10, 2024 - Electrical (Static / Current) \n  \n  \n Discover the different forms of electrical energy through Van De Graaff machine, squishy circuits, snap circuits and building salt and pepper coin batteries. \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n October 1, 2024 - Light (Radiant) \n  \n  \n Learn about light energy by building a solar updraft tower, melting butter in the sun and figuring out which colors absorb the most sunlight. \n  \n  \n ​ \n  \n  \n October 22, 2024 - Thermal \n  \n  \n Find out how thermal energy works through tea bag rockets, curling metal, disappearing ink and fireproof balloon experiments. \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n November 12 - Sound \n  \n  \n Jam out while learning about sound energy through "bug on a leash" and "duck in a cup" experiments and building your own kazoo and pan flute. \n
